  • RATS - Rotating and Turbomachinery Society Polos Social Lounge - 950 Emerald Drive Sherwood Park, AB, T8H 0P5 Canada (map)

TOPIC:

Machine Learning/ AI and Augmented Reality as it Applies to Rotating Equipment

PRESENTER:

Ken Brizel, President, TURBINE-X Technologies Inc.

DESCRIPTION:

TURBINE-X is harnessing the benefits of emerging technologies to support their client's fleet of critical turbomachinery assets.

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

The goal is to catch issues before they shutdown equipment and operations.  Prediction is the key to identify faults that will result in imminent failure if not caught and corrected.  Sensor data is used to trend conditions such as vibrations, shock, fluids, gases, lube oil, power output, etc. and will even catch issues like blade failure.

Augmented Reality

Utilizing technologies such as Trimble SiteVision and Microsoft Hololens, TURBINE-X is able to provide technical support to remote operations like Alaska for maintenance and troubleshooting of gas turbines, engines, generators and back-up systems.  They will showcase these technologies and demonstrate their abilities.
