Description:
API STD 610, 12th Edition (Centrifugal Pumps for Petroleum, Petrochemical, and Natural Gas Industries) was released in January 2021. This new edition will mark the departure from co-operation with ISO with their identical API610 11th and ISO 13709 2nd editions. The following updated areas of the standard will be discussed:
i. Addition of shaft guards for all pumps
ii. New informative Annex addressing “Special Purpose Centrifugal Pumps,” which include high-energy pumps
iii. Energy density limits for pipeline pumps
iv. Material Columns reduced and improvements to material designations, including non-metallic
