Description

FREE conference consisting of twelve (12) sessions of one-hour length. There will be 3 separate sessions running concurrently at 4 separate time slots.  Presentations will be technical in nature and will be of interest to the audience involving topics in the Maintenance, Reliability and/or Operations fields. The presentation should take approximately 45 minutes to complete and should be followed by a 15-minute question and answer period. Presentation hours are eligible for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits. Coffee, drinks, snacks, and lunch will be provided.

During the mid-day presentation break, the trade show will be taking place in the Lion's Banquet Hall.  Come visit and query the industry's well known suppliers, vendors, service providers, and other valued professionals that provide solutions to the rotating equipment industry.  Lunch will be provided during the trade show.

Brent Lakeman

Executive Director, Edmonton Region Hydrogen Hub

Industrial Hydrogen Opportunities in Canada

We will be discussing industrial hydrogen opportunities in Canada, with a regional focus on the Edmonton area and how we are working to build a resilient supply chain.

Brent Lakeman is Executive Director for the Edmonton Regional Hydrogen Hub, where he is leading the Edmonton Metropolitan Region’s activities to position the region as Canada’s preeminent hydrogen hub. Brent collaborates with other regional partners in the transition to this low carbon fuel. Activities include working closely with other partners to attract industries to the region, support global trade opportunities in clean energy, grow the region’s hydrogen value chain and support economic development within the region. Brent is leading a number of initiatives to grow hydrogen demand in the Edmonton region, including the 5000 Hydrogen Vehicle Challenge.

Brent has been leading clean energy initiatives within Alberta for over three decades. His knowledge of Alberta’s innovation ecosystem and his experience in forging industry-government partnerships will help position the Edmonton Metropolitan Region as Canada’s preeminent net-zero hydrogen hub. In his free time, Brent can be found running, biking and skiing on Edmonton’s extensive trail network.
